Breaking radio silence...

Gosh, I've been remiss in updating here. But here are a few updates :)
The CBLDF Liberty Annual 2014 is out from Image; and features a fun story by Robin Furth (writer), myself (artist), Lee Loughridge (colours) and Kristyn Feretti (letters).
I was one of eight (sort of humbling) guests at the Lakes International Comic Festival to create a set of gorgeous giclee prints. They're limited edition and, if you want one, click the banner and get your order in :)
Scorpia is nearing its final phase of production! It's looking fab and Walker have said they'll be able to release the cover soon ^_^
As well as the Lakes Festival, I have two late additions to my schedule this winter: I'll be at the London MCM comic con just for the Saturday - find me and BREAKS in the comic village! And I'll be attending Thought Bubble in Leeds! Yay! I didn't think I'd make it and am so happy that I can!

What's new, pussycat?

Hullo, all! First up, I've been powering ahead on Alex Rider: Scorpia inks since my meeting with Walker a couple of weeks ago.
I can't wait to see how things look once Kate works her colour magic. Click the banner to be taken to the tumblr workblog for the book.
BREAKS is still churning along too. We're up to page 12 on the web edition now (do click through to take a read). We're also waiting on news of the printed prologue; a mini comic that will collect the first 22 pages of the comic - very exciting!
Last up: a reminder that you can now become a patron of my work for as little as $1 a month. If you like my work and would like to maybe see more BREAKS updates and content than what's currently on offer, then support my work and help make it happen. Each and every donation means so much. ^_^

2014 is here.

It's a new year, best wishes to all! ^_^So - Shadow Kiss the Graphic Novel was release in the US and Australia last week, and did some fancy moves on the charts before stock shortages started to be reported. Hang on in there, guys! If you've not got your copy yet, keep at it. x Richelle Mead tells you why you need the book here ^_^

I'm still waiting on notes back from Walker, but as soon as they come in - I'm set to dive into 170 pages of action packed inks for Alex Rider: Scorpia.Last up,  I've been using the wait to finally get started on BREAKS; a new series written by myself and Malin Ryden about two young adults struggling to consolidate their pasts, deal with their present lives, and plan who the hell they expect to be in the future. It's an emotional drama romance with some strong language and grit thrown in. The current plan is to release a single issue prologue this year, and launch a webcomic with it. Exciting, no?! ^_^

Crazy Autumn

Soooo much going on, you guys!!
I had an interview with Alex Dueben of CBR recently, and we talked over what I've been working on *phew* Things are manic, but good. I also offered exclusive preview pages of Shadow Kiss! (due Dec 31st) Head there via the banner to see the whole thing.Over on my tumblr account I've been posting a few bits and pieces, including a montage of the rough pencils from Alex Rider: Scorpia - which I have now completed and submitted, yay! Next step will be to get chatting with the publishers and move forward to inks.
And I've been attending a lot of conventions and hanging out with intelligent and talented friends like..erm...these guys XD
Seriously, con season is mad this year. Next up is New York Comic Con where I'll be on two panels on Saturday: 13:45 in room 1A15 (Doing it the Euro way) and straight after that at 14:45 in room 1A17 (graphic novels). There'll be a signing following the second panel & I hope to be at the Oni booth too...I'll try and post up more details soon. Straight after NYCC is the Lakes, and then MCM...by which point I suspect I'll be mostly a zombie, haha!

Now I'm off to go plan my five pages for Kieron and Jamie's amazing Young Avengers! Weeeee! ^_^

Already July!

So, a quick update from me! Those of you following my facebook or twitter accounts will know that I recently completed inks on Vampire Academy:Shadow Kiss. It's always a mixed feeling finishing up on a big book, and I got to draw so many amazing scenes in this one!
Now all I can do is wait to see how colours come in from Caravan Studio - which is always exciting. I really hope Penguin random House will be able to share the cover soon, as it's looking lovely^_^
So, Shadow Kiss done, I'll be diving back into pencils for Alex Rider: Scorpia. I think you're going to like this book, gang. I've also been working on an Avalon Chronicles-themed article that will open up a pretty cool competition. Why Avalon? Well,  Avalon #2 is out now! Just released last week :)
You'll meet this guy and a few more new characters in the second volume ^_^
In convention news, next up is the epic Edinburgh International Book Festival; featuring their first ever StrippedFest - focused on comics and graphic storytelling. I was pretty overwhelmed to hear that my own workshop actually sold out on the first day tickets went on sale (Thank you, people who booked!), but you'll find loads more comics-related goodness on offer, so get booking and I'll see you there!

Springtime!

Busy, busy, busy. Where to start? Okay, so today's task is to continue inking Shadow Kiss, book three in the Vampire Academy graphic novel series.
It's all moving along nicely now, but if you want to keep up with snippets and news on VA and my other projects, check out my shiny new facebook home, linked from the banner above. ^_^
Next up: I rather excitingly got some special advance copies of Avalon #2 through from the wonderful Oni Press yesterday! It's due for official release in July, but these special copies mean that I'm able to sell a limited number of the book at some upcoming conventions while stock lasts. It's super shiny and gorgeous~! =^_^= So, where can you find me to get an early copy?
First up is the MCM in London, in just a couple of weeks. I always have a blast at this show. ^_^
And hot on Expo's tail is the fabulous 2D in Derry. Such a friendly show and I can't wait to get back there again. Also in that banner is mention of the brand new Lakes festival in Kendal! I mention it because news has just been released, and I'm excited about being part of the curated Comics Clocktower in this new and awesome-sounding event.
Last, but not least, I was a good half-way through penciling Alex Rider: Scorpia at the point when I switched back to finish up on Shadow Kiss, and I can't wait to share this new chapter in Alex's comic-life with you all. I've been blown away by Anthony Horowitz's response to my new designs and Antony Johnston's script is a great adaptation! I'll be back to Alex when inks on Shadow Kiss are done. ^_^
Blimey. I think my poor brain needs a spring-clean ^_~
