Comments: Dragon Heir - Chapter #4

Hey hey, folks! Freshly back from Lucca comic con at 5am this morning (okay, not so fresh), but I couldn't leave poor Protus hanging, so please enjoy chapter 4 and head back here to let me know your thoughts in the comments - I get lonesome, you know?

MCM Expo & Upcoming events

A big thank you to those of you who came to my signings or tracked me down throughout the Expo weekend! I know I was hard to find this show, organising the ComicVillage leaves me running around like a blue-bummed fly most of the time, so the fact that some of you literally came running after me means SO much! *hug* One of these days I'll be able to feel a little more like a creator at the Expo, haha.

Talking of feeling like a creator, next weekend I'm off to Lucca Comics & Games in Italy, where I'll be signing at the Rizzoli booth! If you're reading this from Italian soil, make sure you come and say hello! ^_^

Also, tomorrow evening (27th oct) I'm in Loughton Youth Centre running a workshop from 6:30 - 8:30pm. I have no voice right now, so it could be in semaphore, which in itself is worth a look, eh? haha. Details here.

Comments: Dragon Heir - chapters #1 & #2

Each week I'll be adding a 5-page chapter of my fantasy series, Dragon Heir (published by Sweatdrop Studios), and I'll be providing a blog post for each chapter where comments can be left and I will eat them up and they will be yummy and much appreciated! ^__^
What makes this project interesting is that Dragon Heir, being my oldest comic project, was starting to show its age; especially in the early issues. So what you'll be reading here is actually Dragon Heir:Reborn. The story that was told in the first five issues of the comic is being redrawn and in some places entirely rewritten, so even the Dragon Heir veterans amongst you should find interest here.

Without further ado, click the banner or the link on the top bar to be taken to the beginning of the story, and please do head back here to comment on the chapters. I'll be waiting! ^_^

Limited Edition Print collection coming soon...

So, I have four new prints coming out for this year's MCM Expo (through sweatdrop) and Thought Bubble events, and one of them is this stylish devil: (click the banner to see the full print) ^_~

This is a preview print that you can pick up at those shows, sold at standard price, for the limited edition set I'll be bringing out soon. My plan is to release each character in the ichats series separately as a larger print, which look kind of funky on their own, but when the four come together in a display, lovely things happen! You can organise them how you like, the way I've done it in this preview print is just how I would want to set them up. It's perfect for people deciding on which of the larger prints they'd want, or for people who may not go in for limited editions and just want the images in a nice compact form.

I'll be taking starting orders for the limited editions at MCM and Thought Bubble, before offering the deal online. I know people have asked me before about whether I would offer this sort of thing, so herrree I go! I hope you guys like them and want to give them a good home! They're very talkative and make for good company ^_^

Write Path is underway ^_^

Well, today, children all over the world will be using mine, Andi Watson and Alex Milway's comic pages as starting points for their own stories! It's very exciting and, now that the pages have gone live and are being worked on, I can share what I conjured up as a starting point. I thought it could go in several directions, so I'll be keen to see which direction the children choose!

On the Write Path!

Well, I mentioned it a while back, but the almighty Write path International venture has now begun proper for this year, with the students getting to dive in with starting paragraphs from:
Simon Murray, Barry Hutchinson, Mark Robson, Louis Ferrante, Julia Jarman and Graham Marks on their first day.

Each day this week they'll have new starters to set their creative juices flowing. I'm chuffed to be included along with the likes of Tony Lee, Eoin Colfer and loads more as someone who could perhaps inspire these amazing students to get creative!
Apparently they'll be tackling my starting point on Wednesday - I can't wait! ^_^

If you want to check out the various blog posts accounting the days of the event as they happen, check out the website!
This is such an amazing idea. I would have killed to be involved when I was at school!

Stuffage! ^_^

Well, it sounds like people had a marvellous time at BICS. I was gutted not to be able to go this time - but hopefully next year! ^_^ So, I kind of wanted to bring your attention to two things:

1. Comic Mole Investigates - is a fab little review site where the Comic Mole himself delves into the underbelly of UK comics, mostly independent works. Just recently they've gone a bit crazy and have had a little Emma Vieceli season *blush*, which is amazingly sweet of them! You can check out an interview with me, a mini review of Much Ado About Nothing, and also an essay by the talented Kate Holden (creator of FanDanGo) on my adaptation of Hamlet; it's a pretty fascinating read, even for me! Check out these and other lovelies at the CMI site ^_^

2. Ellerbisms - Marc Ellerby's legendary online diary comic, Ellerbisms, celebrates its 200th strip this week! I was asked if I'd like to contribute a guest strip and leapt at the chance. Brought back fond memories of guesting on Fehed Said and Shari Chankhamma's amazing Rabid Monkeys (gone but not forgotten, guys!). Anyways, I really enoyed doing my little Emmabism and kept giggling throughout! So check it out, as well as the inspiring entries by Lizz Lunney and Matthew Sheret!
